Looking back, what would your most fond memory of the 80s besides the crazy explosion of colors in clothing an make-up? Well, for most it would definitely be the 80s sitcoms that entertained and kept people smiling every day. Among them ‘The Fact of Life” will be forever remembered mostly because of their predominant female cast. It was truly a revolutionary television show that we still talk about. But where is the cast? Lisa Whelchel – Then
With great beauty comes great responsibility, sometimes. For Lisa Whelchel, her beauty was put to good use during her heyday as Blair Warner. At 14 years of age, Whelchel got to play the role of an angst-fueled teen to a beautiful young woman as the show progressed. She was introduced as a teen with a rebellious nature but her character quickly switched up after the premiere of Season 2.

Lisa Whelchel had a career that went beyond her character in ”Facts Of Life”. Her true passion religion and music was what she sought after her gig on the show. As a devout Christian, her beliefs left Whelchel put out religious music and in the year 1984, by getting nominated for a Grammy for her album, ”All Because of You”. Then, in 2012 she joined ”Survivor: the Philippines” winning $100,000 at second place.
Kim Fields – Then
Dorothy Ramsey who was played by Kim Fields was the youngest cast member. Aka Tootsie, Fields was excellent at just 11 years of age who was also the only African-American on the show. In the sitcom, her race and heritage were helpful in tackling many prevailing racial and social issues during the time. Since Tootsie was tiny, she would often roller skate around the set.
Kim Fields – Now
The show was only the beginning of Kim Fields’ career. She then joined ”Living Single” for 5 seasons. She had her studies as a priority, joining Pepperdine. She finished her course and made a return on TV but as a director. Fields took part creating several episodes of Nickelodeon’s ”Kenan and Kel”. Now she occasionally guest-stars in shows like ”Real Housewives of Atlanta” and ”Dancing With The Stars”.
Molly Ringwald – Then
The show had so many adjustments and changes in its first season alone. In order to give each of the cast a decent amount of screen time, they had to remove a lot of characters from the show. So child actors like Molly Ringwald had to be cut off very early on. Naturally, Ringwald was quite upset with her fate on the show but a few years down the line, her luck would change for the better…

Although her ‘The Facts of Life’ career did not last long, Molly Ringwald definitely returned with a bang. If you have lived through the 80s, you would for sure know just how famous and on-demand she was. The young was an important muse for director John Hughes starring in several of his movies. She was the star of his 80s classics like ”Sixteen Candles”, ”The Breakfast Club” and ”Pretty in Pink”.
