He went on explaining just why she was so overcome with emotions, “She knew before we came out he was there with her, but when we walked out in uniform, she definitely knew her dad was there with her.” The uniforms truly added another layer to all the emotions that were already running wild during the wedding. These guys were certainly a thoughtful bunch.
Her Step-Father Fills In
Even though Mikayla’s step-dad took the position which David would have taken to walk her down the aisle and join in on the father-daughter dance, the bride revealed that she was “very, very emotional” not having her biological father present there with her. She was glad that all of the guests remembered her father as he was indeed a good man.
The Main Goal
In the end, her father’s co-workers managed to pull off something truly special indeed. “They said they wanted me to see my dad on my wedding day,” Mikayla stated. She was so happy that her father’s friends wanted him to be present just as much as she wanted him to. She was glad to know that his memory lives on in each and every one.
An Emotional Surprise
She could not stop talking about how pleased she was to hear about their aim. “That was their goal – to be there for me and to show me how much they love me and appreciate me,” she revealed, talking about how grateful she was for her father’s colleagues to spare their time and effort to pull off this heartfelt surprise on her day of marriage.
Forever Grateful
If it was not for David’s police colleagues, Mikayla would not have had the near-to-perfect wedding she had. She could have the one thing she wanted the most which was, for herself to be able to have a part of her dad present there for her wedding. She had poured out her gratitude multiple times to all the guests especially the officers for making it a memorable wedding.
A Touching Story
She was glad that such a big part of her dad’s life could make it to her wedding. “I’m so appreciative of it and I’m thankful for them,” she expressed, “I told every single one of them I loved them and how much it meant to me for them to be there for me.” Her story really is something that everyone should learn from, that sometimes the small things we do for others can end up making them the happiest.
