She’s Paying Nothing
Gina did not apologize, let alone paying for the damage done to the dress by her. Tracey was expecting her to pay for the damages but the MIL had no intention of doing so. Tracey wrote, “She hasn’t offered to pay for any of the repairs to the dress. A section of the train is ripped,” she explained. “I have no idea how much it’s going to cost until I can get to the seamstress tomorrow.”
No Apologies
The old woman had no guilt. Instead of apologizing she went on to patronizing Tracey. She told her that she shouldn’t have bought such an expensive dress. “In the meantime, in lieu of an apology, she’s lecturing me on spending so much money on a wedding dress,” she said. “Clearly the trouble she had getting into the dress was a sign to get something less dramatic and ostentatious.” Tracey has had enough of her and so she came up with a plan.
Taking Legal Action
Tracey was deeply hurt and could not make peace with the fact that her expensive wedding dress was destroyed by her MIL. She could not understand what to do and that is why she once again took to the Reddit to seek suggestions. She described, “I know it’s just a dress, but this goes beyond the dress.” She was wondering if she should take legal action against her. Many people upvoted her plan.
Online Outrage
In no time, the post received many reactions and comments. It had gone viral. One follower commented, “This may be a bit scorched earth, but I would personally tell her that either she pays for the repairs, or she is uninvited.” Many criticized Gina for her reckless and selfish behavior.
Comment Followed
Another said, “You need to present her with the entire repair bill and insist that she pays it in full. This bag would be my hill to die on. What the heck was she thinking? I would also never allow her into your house again. The woman is not to be trusted. I would make all meetings in public areas. If you need to, change the locks and set up cameras.”
Unforgivable
All of the readers condemned the act of Gina. One of them commented, “She doesn’t get to attend the wedding unless she pays for the dress. She literally went and ruined the one thing that’s entirely yours in the wedding. Whatever her reasoning this is unforgivable.”
