Dogs may be the most loyal companions anyone could ever ask for, they are the best pets to care for as well. This has been proven time and again with so many stories about dogs saving people, being emotional pillars and just downright fun-loving animals that keep us humans happy. So imagine how owning a dog that earns must feel? A dog that can cover its own insurance would be a dream come true, right? As if we need any other reason to prove the fact that dogs are adorable, take a look at the inspiring life of a K9 unit/ police dog trainee…

CIA Super Agent

So we are all aware that dogs have a gift of being able to sniff out things that the normal human nose cannot. This innate ability of theirs has proven to be such a blessing for people. So, here we have a Labrador dog that goes by the name of Lulu. Well, if you think she is like any ordinary dog, you are wrong. Lulu is a part of the six K9 Labradors that have been carefully selected to join the CIA’s bomb sniffing squad.

Short-Lived Career

So what kind of personality does this special canine possess? Well, if you have any basic knowledge about dogs you would be well aware that Labradors are one of the friendliest dogs out there. This adorable dog”s career as a super-agent did not go on for too long because of an unimaginable reason. Take a look at the next slide to see why Lulu is so precious.

Size Does Not Matter

This dog was actually recruited at a very young age. She was just a year and a half old when the police force chose her to be a part of the CIA. As a matter of fact, Lulu was actually the smallest member of her whole team. But her small stature did not let her stop from thriving. She proved that even with a small size if you have bravery and will, you can achieve anything.

Taking On Tasks

So we can all guess that taking a job as a bomb sniffing dog would not come without hardships. The dogs that have been selected need to go and investigate buildings that have been potentially filled with explosives. Official Bio

CIA agents always have some bio about them that is posted on their websites. This helps in distinguishing and segregating the officers working in the office. Well, just like any other agent, even Lulu gets to have her own bio. The bio describes this lovable Labrador as an energetic and goofy, adorable and extremely sensitive to the environment that surrounds her.

Her Attributes

Well, you would think that these are all normal traits that a dog possesses. However, even though these characteristics are very good and important for a pet dog to have, for a bomb-sniffing CIA agent, these were not really qualities that help. So was Lulu going to struggle with her job as a bomb-sniffing CIA canine then? Well, let us take a look at how her training went.

CIA Training

So being a CIA agent was going to be a little tough, with a lot of challenges. For Lulu to become a super-spy, she would have to complete a few tasks that were required in the CIA training. All the dogs that were selected needed to prove that they can indeed sniff out explosives and also possess an undying courage that would come in handy later. The CIA soon discovered Lulu’s abilities.

“Should We Fire Her?”

So it would appear that Lulu was not really up to the mark. During her days of training, the officers were actually contemplating on “firing” her. But the reason that these guys wanted to fire Lulu was for something that you would never expect. Most dogs would be deemed unfit but the reason they gave for Lulu was something totally different from these other cases.

Tricks Of The Trade

So like we said earlier, it was a gruesome time for the dogs that have been selected as their training was nothing short of tiring. All of the special canines that have been selected to join the CIA’s K9 unit had to go through a 10-week training program. And even after this training was over, the dogs are expected to successfully sniff out 19,000 explosive scents.

Other Concerns

So the competition gets very tough and serious wherein most of the dogs aim to be able to go through each round. But there was something very different with our dear Lulu. While other dogs were bust trying to complete each of their tasks, Lulu was off doing something that did not concern the training. So what could have been so important to little Lulu?

Less Work, More Play

If you were in training, how would you handle yourself? Would you be concerned about meeting your targets and passing each round too? Well, Lulu’s trainers had a big surprise coming their way. They did not expect that Lulu would be more concerned about playing with the other dogs that had been selected as well. They were leaning to sniff out explosives while Lulu just wanted to play.
