The USNS Montford Point, the pack leader in its class, the Expeditionary Transfer Docks or ETDs, is a marvel. The ship was three years in making and $115 millions in research before becoming a reality and it was worth the wait. It is a transport ship, and not just cargo, it has the ability to get jets to land on to it.
The Wasp Class Amphibious Assault Ship
This assault ship was commissioned to the United States Navy in the year 1990 to provide land and naval warfare support. Today they are also used as aircraft carriers apart from being a lethal force once employed in enemy territories. It can transport an entire unit of United States Marine Corps Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) and land them in hostile territory via landing craft or helicopters.
The USS Nimitz Aircraft Carrier
These nuclear-powered aircraft carriers are a cornerstone of humanity when it comes to vehicular development. It also boasts to be the largest ship in the world and needs to be refueled only once in its 50 years of service life. It was commissioned in the year 1975 and is still in service today.
