Thoughts

A Reddit user going by the name Wellybootrat commented, “This is by far my favourite engagement-announcement-at-a-wedding revenge story I’ve EVER read (and I’ve read a few)! God, that’s actually amazing lol. “Gentle, gentle! I’m pregnant!” at the mum at the end was brilliant, jesus christ. Can’t believe she wasn’t expecting something like that with what she pulled! So glad Emma managed to keep it all in and not rage at her on her own wedding day just so she could get some damn good revenge later on.”

Love Her Revenge

Another user with the name Lillie505 wrote,”That was an awesome read!! Your cousin’s wife is a genius, Sarah expected her to make a scene at her wedding when she announced her engagement but Emma didn’t give her the satisfaction. I love her revenge!”

All Fair

The ending of the story took many people by surprise. One user throwawaybeginner shared, “That ended well! While reading I was worried she was going to sabotage her wedding in revenge, but she basically retaliated equally so it was all fair.” But then there were some who heavily criticized Emma’s revenge plan.

Much Worse

Among those who condemned the revenge was dukefett, “I think the revenge was much worse. She was picked to be the MoH. It sounds like she was faking friendship, literally spending TONS of money that a MoH has to between the dress/bachelorette etc, to pull the revenge, only to get kicked out of the wedding. She must’ve spent $1500 or more I bet on all that shit. She’s got problems.”

Doubts

And then there were some who doubted the story. Harharharbinger wrote, “I’ll never understand how Emma was able to keep her pregnancy a secret- most women already have a very noticeable baby bump by 4 months, which would be hard to hide or accommodate with a bridesmaids gown or bridesmaids gown sizing when ordering the dresses in advance.”
