Looking at the local’s disappointment the authorities finally admitted their mistake. They assured the crowd that in future the endangered animals will be taken extra care. They admitted that they should’ve taken actions earlier.
Regretted
Pedals is still missed by everyone who knew his story. People still think of it that he would have still been alive if all those phone calls and messages would have been taken seriously. But people did what they could for their beloved bear.
A Massive Campaign
A GoFundMe page was started after Pedal’s death. It’s a campaign to be prepared for the moment when any such similar situation comes up in the future. Luckily, the community collected enough money for the future. And they even saved a part of the total collected money to show their respect towards the bear who became the cause for the initiation of this campaign.
Statue Of Honor
They made a memorial to give Pedals, the walking bear an appropriate enclosure set up in his name. Life is short and we should do all that we can just to make this world a better place. As we were talking about a bear, we would like to tell you that this isn’t the first time a bear was doing something unusual.
Bears Are More Than Wild
Very fewer people know about it but horses weren’t the only animal used for wars. Wojtek (1942-1963), a Syrian brown bear who was bought when he was a cub in Iran by the Polish II Corps soldiers. As the time passed he became a part of the army.
A Life Of Dignity
In 1944, the Battle of Monte Cassino in Italy took place and Wojtek was a part of the team and helped in moving the heavy crates. After retiring from the Polish Army he lived in the Edinburgh Zoo, Scotland peacefully.
