Opportunity Knocks Only Once

Life is filled with surprises that come out in open when you are least expecting them. Isn’t that just amazing? Like how things turn out for us. One moment we are there, cursing our lives, and the other moment we are gifted with something amazing that brings back our faith in life. But one thing is for sure, that no matter how hard life becomes, we should always trust the process that is life. David Killen heard of a locker that hasn’t been used in years. He was given the opportunity to buy that locker because it contained some very old pieces of stuff and Killen loved these kinds of things. At first, he was not sure of buying it because he had to spend $15,000 on it. But then the curiosity kicked inside him and he wanted to see what that locker holds. He made a decision and bought it. Soon this decision will change his life forever because what he found was nothing compared to ordinary.

What Was Locked?

Killen was on his way to the auction house where the locker was situated. Being a professional dealer he had his thought of finding something valuable and worth the money inside the locker. He has heard so many stories where people have discovered some antiques inside the abandoned lockers and even he was excited and the thought of making such discoveries like other people was somewhere in the back of his mind. He remembers one story in particular which made him more excited.

Unlocking The Destiny

After he purchased the locker, it was time to open it. The stuff inside didn’t look that appealing at first, everything seemed very normal. He wasn’t happy about it. He thought he wasted his money on something very stupid and was very frustrated. He picked up all the stuff and was putting them back inside the locker. What’s that? There was something at the end of the locker which he missed taking it out. He took it out and couldn’t believe his eyes. He was speechless.

Killen Couldn’t Resist

In 2015, one of Willem de Kooning piece of art “Interchange” was auctioned for whopping $300 million and became the second costliest painting ever sold in the auction. That same year, one couple who bought one of de Kooning for just $500 from a website found out the true value of the painting which was over $113,000. Killen was aware of such incidents that happened with people who found some amazing works and later were shocked after knowing its true worth. Even Killen was thinking of this possibility and he moved forward with the piece of art.
Did we tell you that there was not one but two paintings he found inside the box?

Another Hidden Treasure

Inside the storage locker, Killen was lucky to find another extraordinary piece of work, an original from Paul Klee. He was the famous Swiss-German artist in the community of fine art. Many scholars believe that Paul Klee shaped modern art and what we see today, is all because of him. Klee had a very unique and distinctive style which found its origin from Expressionism, Cubism, and Surrealism.
