The next morning the first thing Thomas did was to check his accounts to see if the payment was done. Still nothing. It seemed like time wasn’t on his side as he didn’t get a single chance to visit the family and now it was almost a year and still no payment was made by the family. Thomas knew there was a family living in his house but they seemed like a ghost. They never called nor met any of their neighbors. What was this family? Was it even one?
Gathering Information
Literally, the family was a ghost. Neither Thomas nor their neighbors knew anything about them except the names. Thomas knew some neighbors who lived near his owned property in which this family was now living for over a year and that too without paying any rent. As he wasn’t getting any time to meet the family in person he made some calls to know about their whereabouts. Still nothing from the other side. Nobody knew what was going on with the family. But soon, Thomas found out and he was ready for the payback.
Enough Is Enough
The tenants weren’t paying the rent. Thomas kept calling them, but there was no answer from their side. Still, he kept calling them and every time it was always voice mail voice over the phone. One day his call was dropped and he began to think the worst of the situation. He was sure that they were now purposely avoiding him which continued for 14 months. Thomas was a patient and reasonable man but even he had his limits.
Knock! Knock!
Thomas was angry and furious the way things were going. He was so angry that he didn’t even realize that he was almost near the apartment. He locked his car and the next moment he was standing in front of the apartment. He knocked twice but nobody answered. He knew that this would happen as they were already ignoring his calls. But the family forgot that he was the owner of the house and he has the spare key with him. But should he do it?
Tough Decision
Even though he had a spare key with him, he didn’t want to enter the house. It would seem rude of him and it was wrong. But he needed to know what was going on with the family. He took out the key, putting it in the lock he twisted the key to open the house. Not to alarm anybody by his presence he made his way inside only to see the most unexpected thing. He was in shock!
Not A Pleasant Sight
Thomas entered the house with the help of a spare key. As he opened the door he saw the apartment that was filled with garbage that was piled up like its reaching the ceiling. The furniture was broken, there were children’s toys which were literally all over the place in pieces. Some even came under Thomas’s feet that almost made him fall but the broken sofa saved him from falling. But that’s not it. There was more. But how did this all happen?
