This story is about a family who would thank their family dog till their last breath. This is the penultimate example of the value of animals in our life and the endless and innocent love they shower on us. It is of utmost importance that we humans learn a lesson from these animals and turn this world into a more beautiful place to live in.
Haus- The German Shepherd
Dogs are known form their true love and loyalty they show towards their owners. They are a source of joy for anyone who owns them. Fortunately, the DeLuca family, who adopted a two-year-old German shepherd named Haus, got much more than they bargained for.
A Complete Family
The DeLuca family instantly felt that Haus was the only one who could fill the void in their lives and complete their family, when they brought it home from a shelter in Tampa, Florida. As Donya told Today, “He just bonded with all of us so quickly, it was like he was always part of our home. Even the neighbors loved Haus. In all respects, he was the perfect family dog.”
Then, the day came which would forever change the family’s perception of him. As, Molly’s grandmother watched Haus act in an unexpected way, when Molly, seven-years, was gathering toys in the backyard with the dog by her side.
Something Was Fishy
Haus was acting suspiciously, and it was terrifying. “He kept jumping back and then forward,” Donya demonstrated for WFLA. “And he did it three times.” Of course, Donya’s mother, watching from a distance, feared the worst. A young German shepherd, new to the family, moving aggressively around a little girl? That was a danger sign.
Molly Started Crying
According to Molly’s grandmother, she, “didn’t even realize what he [Haus] was staring at—but then all of a sudden there was all of this blood” covering the dog. In a frantic state, the grandmother called Donya, who could hear Molly crying in the background. What happened? Did Haus viciously attack Molly?
Surprisingly, the reality was totally different. It happened that, a deadly Eastern diamondback rattlesnake had come face-to-face with Molly and Haus when they were in the yard. Coiled and angry, it struck at Molly—only to have Haus jump in the way instead. Tragically, his act of bravery came with a huge cost.
