Allison decided to stay strong in these difficult times. She saw a ray of hope when CBS went on to aware the people about the negative aspect of internet and media by using Allison’s photograph as an example. This made people realize the fact that photos taken without the consent of the people in it can affect the person a lot.

But, this also proved to provide relief for a short period of time. The damage was permanent and every effort was useless as the people were not able to understand the effect it was having on Allison. She started to live in fear and also refrained from participating in events as she would be surrounded by people who would admire her and try to get close to her. She was so scared that she double and triple checked all the locks in her house before sleeping.

The most saddening aspect of the whole incident for Allison was that nobody was focusing on her talent of pole vaulting rather everyone would just talk about her physical beauty. This had started to take a toll on her mental health, as she started to remain depressed.

Her college career

Things started to get a little better for Allison when she decided to join a college in California, near to her parents, family, and friends. She got a full athletic scholarship and again started pole vaulting with the ‘Golden Bears’. In order to stay away from any trouble, she decided to stay away from any sort of attention and media.

She was back in her old routine of breaking records frequently. During her college, she went on to again break her own record and amazingly managed to focus on her academics as well. The end of her college life saw her as a master in sociology and a record holder in many events of track and field.

It will not be surprising to state the fact that Allison was eying at the opportunity to represent her country in the London Olympics. She maintained a strict training regime and had jumped a staggering 14 feet and 3 ½ inches!But, the only thing in her mind was to firstly qualify for the Olympics.
