This powerful sense of empathy or sympathy that we have for our fellow human beings is something that makes us even more special than other living beings. This brave boy did not let his fears take over him and did something magical to save someone’s life.
Void Of Help
Back in 2013, in the month of April, there was an unfortunate incident that took place in the village called Segarcea. This is located in Dolj County, Romania. There was a boy who accidentally fell into a deep well in the city and even though the rescue personnel with all their professional equipment failed to save the child. They were facing more difficulty than they expected. They tried several approaches to save the boy. All their efforts resulted in a loss and they were running out of options. The rescue team actually dug deep into the ground going as deep as they possibly could along the well’s pipeline. The people who were watching nearby were soon becoming worried as well.
Futile Efforts
The scene itself was pretty chaotic. It was just like a scene from a movie, except that this was real life, involving real people. Just beside the boy’s parents were cranes and a bunch of firemen and police who were doing their best to do their work. All of the people present there were all trying their hardest to get the trapped boy out of the well. As their efforts were proving to be a failure time and again, the rescue team was beginning to lose hope. They tried another way to save the boy. The only thing left for them to do was to throw a lengthy rope down the well. This strong rope would then be attached to the boy for the purpose of being pulled up.
The Only Solution Left
As their efforts were again fruitless, the crew had a sudden realization. Even though all of their desperate attempts at saving the boy had gone to waste, they thought of a new idea. The team was sure that if another person could go down the deep well, the boy could possibly be saved. A boy named Cristian Marian Becheanu said he was up for the challenge.
High Emotions
Cristian was indeed commendable because other boys his age would tremble with fear by just the thought of being lowered down the well. The media people were attempting to ask him questions. There was a reporter who quickly questioned him if he was scared at all. When he was asked this question, Cristian told them that he was in fact not scared one bit.
The Moment Of Truth
As Cristian was getting his preparations done by the police for the well-rescue, the boy’s family members who were standing there beside him looked visibly tensed. Cristian was the calmest person standing there. This is such an amazement because even his life is at risk once they lower him down the well. To make sure that the teenager was safe from injuries, the police had to follow all the safety measure they could take. There was a fireman who kept a headlamp over Cristian’s forehead. To make sure that it did not fall off or tumble over, they adjusted it perfectly. As the time approached closer for the boy to go for his rescue, everyone knew it could wither end tragically or wonderfully.
Problem Over?
After carrying out every little instruction that they gave him, the teenage boy was able to carry the boy who had been trapped inside the well for a long time. The crew surrounding the well helped pick up the two of them when they emerged. Cristian breathed in a heavy dose of air as it must have been suffocating down there. The crowd cheered like anything.
