And after seeing that the Swilling couple found the results they wanted, even Wayne wanted to give it a try. He was hoping that the tactic that Swilling used would prove successful for him and Deanne was well. He became incredibly inspired by Swilling’s tale and so went straight to work in order to craft his very own advertisement to somehow get a donor for his wife.
Hoping And Praying
And so, just like Swilling, Wayne decided that the signboard advertisement would be of great use. Wayne made use of a large sandwich board and had written a very heartbreaking plea that would hopefully grab the attention of people. It was indeed very hard to ignore his plea. So Wayne was optimistic that this would work. So how did things go from there?
Life’s Hardships
And in case you did not know, there is a lot of difficulties that looking for a donor brings. It is not an easy task to try and locate an organ donor. It is especially challenging to find a kidney donor. If you did not know this, let us tell you just how hard it is to get a kidney. Experts have revealed that every year, there are 3,000 new patients that are added on the waiting list for a kidney.
The Saddest Part
And this is not even the saddest part, the National Kidney Foundation has also revealed that about 13 people die every day while they wait for a kidney to be donated to them. It is a hard truth that people living with kidney problems have to face. These patients sometimes need to wait for about three years and Wayne was certain that his wife would not be able to hold out that long…
Wayne’s Sign
Wayne also knew that he would need a very striking message if he wanted to get someone’s attention. He would have to craft a clear but heartfelt plea in order to get the right donor for his poor wife. So then, Wayne went ahead and crafted up a sign on a sandwich board. He spent some time to contemplate on what he wanted the sign to say…
Message On The Board
And so, Wayne finally knew what he wanted the signboard to say. He wrote, “NEED KIDNEY 4 WIFE.” The board also included his phone number and even his wife’s blood type: “A-”. “I didn’t know what to do,” Winters revealed in an interview he gave later, “I felt like I needed to do something.” It was clear that the man was getting desperate to find a solution.
