Normal Upbringing
No matter how big the troubles were, the parents were filled with joy and happiness to have their little girl in their lives. They loved their little daughter more than anything in this world and they had named their little angel Addie. She was the source of eternal bliss in their lives but they hated seeing her suffer. Addie found it quite difficult to walk the reason being her legs were tilted and were not straight that stopped her from moving freely. Even the doctors feared the worse that was Addie would never make it to her feet but her parents weren’t willing to give up.
Time To Go Home
Addie’s parents were willing to do everything it took to get their daughter back on her feet. Addie had to undergo four surgeries but the good thing was that she made a quick recovery. Addie and her parents were eager to discharge from the hospital and go home. Addie’s tiny legs were operated at the Texas Scottish Rite Hospital. The hospital’s staff was welcoming and warm and they did their best to assure that Addie and her parents felt like they were home. But the thing was Addie and her parents had been making regular trips at the hospital and since the time of Addie’s surgery, they hadn’t lived a normal life. They were enthusiastic about heading back home and spend some time together as a family in normal surroundings.
Happy Camper
The parents were relieved after what they were getting to witness as soon as they headed home. Addie was in the best of her health with visible movements similar to any other kid of her age. However, her legs were still slightly bent and it was obtrusive, but Addie didn’t care much about it. She was able to move around that too as much as she wanted. It seemed like everything was finally falling into place for Addie and her family but they still had a long way to go, a fact they would discover a lot later in life.
Doing Their Best
They had done almost everything in their power to assure that their daughter Addie leads a normal life and to their luck, things had been falling just in place. A number of surgeries and sessions of therapy that followed allowed Addie in managing her condition so she could finally enjoy the freedom that comes with the ability to move. The little yet brave Addie had not only survived but also beaten Larsen Syndrome. Her parents had always wanted to take her for strolls in a park and for swimming lessons, or simply watch her rollerskating and picking her up when she falls. All their dreams were now coming to life but they had never imagined what life had in plans for them.
Family Support
Till the time Annie was seven years of age, you wouldn’t believe that she had been operated for a massive 65 times just to get the posture of her legs right. Even half of 65 surgeries would be enough to break the willpower of a grown up but this little girl had displayed the sheer character of bravery and courage proving that age is just a number. Even she as well desired a normal for herself and she continued to endure the pain with a smile on her face knowing that it will all eventually pay off. She always wanted to live in a world where she is able to walk and run like a normal kid. But this wasn’t the last hurdle in the family’s way to happiness. They would soon get to know it.
What A Sum
By now Addie had spent most of her time or say most of her life at the Texas Scottish Rite Hospital where she was receiving treatment for her underlying condition, being operated, or attending physical therapy. Therefore when she made it back home after completing her treatment she made sure to make it count. She would go out and run and hop all over the place, didn’t miss a day at school and always played outdoor sports with her friends. While all these gestures appeared as normal to everyone, no one had suspected this little girl to hide a big secret.
