An Obstacle

It was on his second trip that Tyrel told Joana that he wanted to marry her and Joana too happily said yes. This was just a start as Tyrel was supposed to tell this to her family and their permission too. Her parents really liked Tyrel but there was still an obstacle for their approval. Joana’s father immediately agreed to their relationship but her mother, Racel wasn’t convinced.

Marriage Was On The Cards

According to Racel, Joana and Tyrel were too young for a lifetime commitment that comes with marriage. She didn’t want to take any risk when it was about her daughter’s future and her happiness. She knew that Tyrel was earning good and Joana was happy with him but she asked them to wait and rethink about it. However, Racel made herself clear, Tyrel did not agree with her.

A Plan Of Action

Tyrel came back to America but what Racel said was still in his mind. He wanted to prove to Racel that he was serious about her girl and also ready to commit to her. While thinking all the possible ways he finally had an idea. Tyrel decided to take his father, Ivan to the Philippines with him on the next trip. Tyrel didn’t talk to his father about it yet his inner voice was telling him that Ivan would take his side on this. Was this plan going to work in any way?

One Big Happy Family

On May 2014, Ivan and Tyrel headed to the Philippines together. This time Tyrel was nervous. Luckily, everything happened just as he was planning. Ivan and Tyrel were welcomed by Joana’s family. Ivan made Racel aware of the fact that Tyrel, his son was indeed ready to take the next big step of his life. Ivan even talked about where they should be living after marriage, whether the Philippines or the US. The biggest step was yet to be taken…

On One Knee

So, Racel thanked Ivan for making out time and coming all the way from the states to the Philippines just to meet the Marchan family. She even told him that they were not agreeing with Tyrel and Joana’s relationship until Ivan interfered. The only reason they allowed their relationship to continue was that of Ivan’s visit. So, the formal engagement took place and the next question was, where will they be living?

The States!

After all the discussions, the couple decided to start a new life in the United States. Tyrel’s job was good and paid nicely that was enough for them to start a new life. Tyrel also wanted to help Joana’s family in the Philippines but at first, he wanted to make sure that Joana’s visa gets approved. The path through the US bureaucracy was not at all straight and Joana was supposed to get the visa before she could live with Tyrel in Idaho.
