Tyrel was already aware of Joana’s family conditions. What he didn’t know was a 10-by-19 foot property with hardly any furniture. Tyrel was surprised to see that all the 8 family members used to sleep in one bedroom on the floor. Tyrel never saw such living conditions before and this trip became more than just about Joana as her family taught Tyrel a different style of living. This made Tyrel realize some very important things about life.
Tyrel’s Realization
Tyrel came for a well to do family living in a developed country and seeing wholly different consequences in Joana’s house he understood the value of small things that he took for granted throughout his life. He started valuing everything he had. Buying new furniture, studying in college, playing video games and other things that were no big deal for Tyrel was actually a big thing for Joana’s family. They worked hard and saved more to fulfill their kids’ requirements.
The Visit Neared Its End
Tyrel was living the best days of his life with the prettiest woman he ever met. They wanted to stay together but the truth was that Tyrel has to go back to his country leaving Joana behind. Was their love going to end here? After all, long distance relationships rarely work, right? Time was up for the new couple now…
Heartbreaking Goodbyes
Tyrel never knew this 10 days trip will make such a strong impact on him but it did. He admired Joana as well as her family. Their goodbye was unbearably painful. They didn’t know when will be the next time that they’ll see each other. They stayed in touch via Skype but were not yet couples officially. Why?
A Custom
Generally, when two people like each other and get into a relationship it is up to them if they would like to tell it to everyone or not. In Joana’s tradition, two people are officially couple only after the guy gets the girl’s father’s permission. So far, Joana’s father knew that Tyrel and Joana were good friends and hence they were not officially a couple.
Tyrel’s Second Visit
After his return to America, Tyrel started working harder than before and saved enough money for a month’s trip to see Joana by the end of November. His flight was on November 27 and unlike before he wasn’t anxious but excited to see the love of his life as soon as possible. Guess what? During this trip, he had a mission to accomplish.
