Teacher Tells The Truth
The teacher understood who this writer was, and informed Andrew and his family about it. “Me and my family are so grateful. We want to reward the girl somehow,” said Andrew in an interview who wanted to thank the sixth-grader for her concern.
Little Reward
Andrew was planning on visiting Houghton Academy a few days after the Thanksgiving break. But one of the teachers already told the girl that they all know about her note. It was a “Proud teacher moment,” Nick Kiser, the girl’s teacher tweeted, “One of my students wasn’t afraid to be a ‘snitch’ and did the good deed. No Thanksgiving homework!”
Outstanding Leadership
Also, Houghton Academy’s vice principal announced that the girl will be receiving a special citizenship award for “outstanding leadership.” One of the spokeswomen for Buffalo Public Schools said in an interview, “Kudos to the sixth-grader. We always tell our students if they see something to say something.”
Keen To Meet
“I just want to thank her so much for being so courageous and doing the right thing when it would have been easier to go home and forget the whole thing,” he told. Andrew was inspired by her act of kindness and courage.
What About The Driver?
When Andrew informed the school bus company, First Student about the incident, they had to take some action. Later on, they issued a statement that said, “Yesterday, when we were made aware of the incident we jumped into action. The First Student team met the owner of the sedan to review the damage and initiate our insurance process.”
Not Trained?
“Yesterday, First Student jumped into action, [and] we met with [Sipowicz] to review the damage. We will cover the full cost [of repair] and [the] loaner. We try to do the right thing in every instance,” read the statement. The company took strict action against the driver to set an example and save the reputation of their company.
