Vicuña
Speaking of exotic wool, there is another prehistoric animal Vicuna famous for its fiber. Vicuna is believed to be the ancestor of the modern-day alpaca. So where can we find them?
Beautiful Vicuna
Soon after the Incas empire fell vicunas were on the verge of extinction due to mass hunting. Southern White Rhino
The Southern White Rhino is more about how these conservationists communities are working hard to prevent their extinction from the face of this earth. Even after working over several laws preventing the Southern White Rhino they are under threat from poachers, who harvest their horns for medicinal purposes. But, how are they ancient?
The Mix Of Two
To save them from poachers the conservationists have taken several measures, such as surrounding the environment with armed guards and in many cases removing and destroying the horn for good. This ancient species is actually is a mix of two subspecies, the Northern White Rhinoceros and the Southern White Rhinoceros. Sadly, the Northern White Rhino’s population is on the verge of getting extinct as there are only females left and we could see their extinction in this lifetime for sure.
