To everyone’s surprise, Flora’s Social Security Number was still in use and someone used it on regular basis in Massachusetts. This gave an idea to the Detective that he was about to find out something that has been hidden for decades now but what exactly was it?
250 Miles Away
Detective Morgan successfully tracked the number and found out the current location from where this SSN was being used. He assumed that it was surely someone who stole Flora’s SSN and was using it fearlessly. When he inquired more this person’s last name was Harris who lived in the same place since 2001.
Identity Theft?
Detective Morgan went to the facility with other detectives and could have never guessed what they were about to discover. “Same first name, different last name, but same birth date and social security,” recalled detective Morgan. It was seeming to be an identity theft case for sure but sometimes things aren’t what they look from the outside.
Pointed At The Picture
Luckily, the police took Flora Stevens photograph which was on the work ID that the cops found with them as it would have helped them in questioning the woman they were going to meet at the facility. After they introduced themselves to Flora and she greeted them. Before the detectives could have said anything at all Flora took the photo out of their hands and pointed at the picture.
One Word
“She says that’s me, or me, she responded with one word, me,” recalled detective Morgan. All the detectives were taken over by disbelief. Just to be sure, the cops showed her husband’s photo to which she replied as, “Robert.” Why was she living there? And how no one was ever able to find her?
