The man then continued, “You guys wanna be part of this?” The two then replied with yet another “no, sir.” He was now looking at the little boy that had been bullied by these older boys and asked him, “Are you ok?”.
Yet Another Message
He wanted to make sure that the little boy felt safe and secure now. “Why don’t you take your ball, and we’ll go over there,” he proceeded also offering to play ball with Joey. He did not want the boy to have any fear any longer so he asked the teens to leave. But then he was still not done. He actually had another thing to say to the teens that he hoped would get through to the teens…
A Social Experiment
There was yet another twist in this story. This was actually not what it seemed. Everything was actually planned out. This kind stranger who had done what he could to help Jones was not aware of one thing. The entire thing was actually something planned by mastermind Matthew Bandeira. This was also for his YouTube channel MattTV.
Social Issues
And this was not an ordinary channel where random videos get uploaded. The channel was focused on tackling social issues using social experiments to get a better understanding of how people would react when kept in difficult situations. The first video, “Would You Help An Abandoned Child?” had received over 300,000 views. Then, another hit video was uploaded.
Inspired By Another Video
There was a reason why Bandeira made these videos. If you have seen a viral video that had been circulating back in the month of December in 2017, it had a deep impact on Bandeira. This particular video that went viral was of a young kid named Keaton Jones. He was recorded giving a tearful message about something he was struggling with. In the video, he spoke about being bullied.
Tackling Bullying
And since this was such a heartfelt message that the boy gave, it ended up going viral. The video went on to garner millions of views and shares too. It then went on to create a national conversation on the topic bullying. These events gave Bandeira some inspiration too. He soon made a decision to hold his very own social experiments. So he had an idea where he wanted to tackle bullying.
