Since the boys were clearly getting a lot rougher, the man could not sit silently anymore. After the ball reached the other side of the footpath, the kid and the teens all ran towards it. It was clear that the teens still wanted to kick the ball around. And just then, the man on the side decided to follow them too. “Gentlemen,” he asked, “What are you doing?”
Not Buying It
The teenage boys were still planning to kick and take the ball away for Joey, but they met with an unexpected response. This came from a random man who was behind them, who questioned them suddenly. The teens were startled to see how the random stranger reacted. “Just playing ball, sir,” said one of them. But this guy was clearly fooled by them.
The Bullies Get Uncomfortable
This guy had seriously had enough of watching the teen take advantage of the boy. He then asked another question, “You got a problem?” to the 3 teens. Before they could even answer him, he shot them with another question, “Why are you picking on a little kid?” The boys were trying to figure out how to best answer his questions. “Playing ball,” the teen replied with his head down.
Not Having It
And after the man began to question what they were all doing, the way the teens behaved dramatically changed. Since they were being called out by an adult, their demeanor had changed. He had now kept his head down and was evident that he felt uncomfortable. The man was not about to watch the 3 teens toy around with the young kid’s ball as he had seen that he was innocent.
Giving Them A Scolding
And since the guy had seen enough of the blatant bullying, he gave the boys a piece of his mind. His questions did not stop and continued with some more. “Don’t you think your parents would love this? You guys getting arrested for picking on a little kid?” the man questioned the teens, “You think they’d be proud of you?” His questions were enunciated in a forceful tone.
The Other Two
After all the questions were fired to them, the older boy who had been toying around with Joey had no answer. They had nothing to reply to these questions but could only give out a quiet “no, sir.” And even then the guy was not done. He now took his attention to the other two teens who had remained silent till then. What was he going to say to them?
