Crossing 14 Miles
Walter’s determination of getting to his workplace was evident as he had already walked a 10-mile mark. He continued to walk towards his work site and had now crossed the 14-mile mark. To see some guy walking in the middle of the road around midnight would be weird for anyone. A few policemen saw him and rushed towards him to see if he was alright.
Police Did The Unthinkable
It might have been a little frightening for Walter to have to answer the policemen who have approached him because his behavior was suspicious. But when Walter explained the kind of situation he was into the cops, everything was settled. As a matter of fact, the police decided to treat him to some breakfast, and they went ahead and dropped him at his job.
Impressing Others
On the first day of his work, Walter had already been assigned some work. He had plenty of work to help a family move. To come to work the first day on a police car is something very few people will ever get to experience or witness. The level of commitment that the 20-year-old had was something that moved the owner of the house.
An Amazed Home Owner
With sheer determination and a little help from some friendly policemen, Walter was able to reach his destination. When he got to the family he had been assigned to help, the house owner could not believe her eyes. Jenny Hayden Lamey is the owner of the house and she was in complete awe to see the effort that Walter took to get to her.
GoFundMe Page
She was so moved by the dedication that this boy had shown and so she wanted to do something for him. After seeing how much trouble he went through to help her family move, Jenny updated a heartwarming post about Walter on her Facebook. She wanted to do more so she even set up a GoFundMe page for Walter to hopefully help him.
Jenny Wanted To Raise $2,000
Jenny was so touched by how Walter did not let all the trouble that he had faced the day before bum him out. She could not believe that he actually walked the whole night to help her out with her moving. All Jenny wanted for the dear boy was to get some money to hopefully get Walter to fix his car. Lamey’s post went viral and pretty soon he donation exceeded $34,000.
