Overcome With Worry
It was the first time that Amber saw one of her loved ones in such a painful condition. She felt so helpless at that moment as she couldn’t help her boyfriend if she wanted to. They were planning for a date but it turned into a nightmare. And that night was going to be a long one for the two families.
Whisked Away
The paramedics quickly prepared him for the transfer. “He’s now in a neck brace and heading to the helicopter. What’s going on?” she thought to herself. They were taking him to the nearest hospital where he will be taken straight to the emergency room. He was taken away and Amber and father got back in their car to head to the hospital.
Waiting For Answers
Ty’s friends and parents were at the hospital already waiting to see him. She stated, “we rushed to the hospital where I met up with his parents. We are all desperate for answers. Does he have a pulse? A heartbeat? Is he alive?” Sadly, they didn’t receive any answers for several hours, that’s how long doctors took to examine the young teen.
A Spinal Injury
“After hours of doctors and their medical team examining Ty, they have gathered us in a room to report their findings. Ty has suffered an incomplete spinal cord injury.” At first, the doctors chose to share the good news with the family and Amber. It was that Ty was out of danger and out of pain. The Sad News
“He is now hooked up to countless wires, tubes and a halo attached to his head,” the then 16-year-old girl explained. The doctors had to operate as soon as possible. Even if there were fewer chances of his legs to be fine, everyone was hoping for the operation to be a success.
