Dad Made A Joke

On The Hunt

However, when Klaus saw his son working really hard for his homework, he jokingly asked him to look for the plane that according to the story had crashed in their farm. He reminisces, “When my son Daniel was recently given homework about World War Two, I jokingly told him to go out and find the plane that is supposed to have crashed out in the field.”

Investigation Begins

Daniel thought of giving it a shot. The story had been running in the family for a very long time but no one had ever tried to find out if that was a true or a lie. Daniel who was very excited about it decided to get to the bottom of it. He took to the spot and started searching for the plane but nothing came to his hand. Was that a lie?

With Metal Detector

The very next day, Klaus and Daniel headed out with a metal detector to inspect the farm. It was a sunny day. Though Klaus was confident that there was no plane buried in their backyard, he carried out the inspection in hope of finding some utensils or anything related to history that would help Daniel in his research work. Klaus said, “hoped we might find some old plates or something for Daniel to show in school.”

It’s A Beep

The duo kept searching the pasture land for hours but nothing relevant surfaced. In fact, they could not even find anything worth featuring in his project. Klaus suggested returning home as the sun was about to set. As they were crossing the boggy ground of their farm, the device beeped.

What’s That?

The two looked at each other all surprised. They immediately started digging the ground with handheld spades. Later on, they borrowed an excavator from their neighbor to speed up the digging process. They dug five yards down when their tools hit something hard.

Digging The Dirt

They had reached the end of it. By now they had dug up a lot of dirt with the help of the excavator. Klaus says, “At first we were digging up a lot of dirt with metal fragments in it.” So did they find anything of value?
